GEOS download section
Getting started

Even though GEOS 64 and GEOS 128 are being provided here for free downloading, this is still commercial software. Therefore all existing copyrights still apply. GEOS is being provided for free downloading in the hopes it will encourage more active participation among Commodore users. If one desires, GEOS may still be purchased commercially through Click Here Software. The price has been reduced to a very affordable $25 (plus shipping) for either version, GEOS 64 or GEOS 128. The advantage with the commercial version is you will receive a complete set of original disks along with the full printed documentation. GEOS may be purchased in our online store.

As a user, you are perfectly welcome to download GEOS here and use it as much as you'd like. The only restrictions are you must not sell it or redistribute it in any form or fashion. The only way it may be redistributed is if you know someone who would like a copy but they have no way of downloading it here. In that case, you are allowed to download GEOS for that person, but you must not charge for the service nor may you charge for the disks you supply. This is to be a completely free service available only from this web site here at cmdrkey.com.

The exception to the redistribution rule is with a few of the files included here in order to make this downloading possible. Wraptor and Convert 2.5 may be redistributed. These files have been authorized by the original owners to be freely distributed. The printer drivers and fonts may also be freely passed around.

If you're new to GEOS, you might find it very helpful to follow along through each page here in order. In addition to helping guide you through the entire setup process, you will get a brief and simple tutorial as you progress through each step. Click below to continue.

For additional help with GEOS that you will download here, there is nothing better than direct contact with experienced GEOS users around the world. That help is as close as your email. You can sign up and join the Commodore Homestead mailing list for free and join in with many other Commodore users around the world who are interested in sharing ideas and helping others with all aspects of Commodore computing. Just go to the Homestead website. To the left of your screen and down just a little, you'll find a link to the Homestead mailing list. Go check it out and join the list.

NOTICE: When Click Here Software first started making GEOS available for free downloading, the site was hosted at Rod and Gaelyne Gasson's Commodore site. Needless to say, once word got out and messages began posting to slashdot.org, the site got "slashdotted" heavily. Almost 100,000 hits were received during the first 24 hours following the article on February 13, 2004 about GEOS being made available for downloading. This caused a considerable amount of bandwidth problems along with an unexpected initial expense. Bandwidth charges were very high on the Australian server operated by the Gasson's.

Many faithful Commodore users made donations to the Gasson's to help defray the costs and donations today are still appreciated.

All donations go to VCSWEB for continued support of Commodore users worldwide. Please click the PayPal link to donate.

$1 (or more) is all that is asked.
